Smoking! |
Dee Krier, founder of “The Krier Program to Stop Smoking” says that plenty of self-congratulation in the first few days of stopping smoking is a great advantage. According to American Family Practice, ex-smokers who give themselves a lot praise when they quit smoking have a better chance of success than those with the “Kick me if I smoke again” mindset. As part of treating yourself well, think of this, when you add up all the cost of smoking, i.e. tobacco, lighter, gas to go get the cigarettes, medical bills, damaged clothing and furniture. The actual cost of one pack of cigarettes is approximately $40. After just a short while, you can buy yourself a nice present with the money you have saved. You can begin to see the rewards. My client, Robert Nelson, bought himself a brand spanking new purple Harley with all the accessories. His payment was less than his monthly cigarettes use to cost him.

As time goes on, the rewards will begin to accumulate. Nothing you can do for your health—not even dieting or exercise—can so quickly pay so many great dividends as stopping the addiction to nicotine. After just a week, your body will be free of nicotine. You will notice that you’ll be able to taste and smell again. Your coughing will go away. You will be able to breath easier. You will no longer have to go out to get tobacco, or stand outside in the cold with the other drug addicts to get a fix. You’ll be able to walk up a flight of steps without panting. And no you won’t gain weight unless you think you will. It is scientifically impossible unless you have pre-programmed yourself to think that you will. Newly created smoke-free people are, also, pleased with the sense of mastery and accomplishment. Most important, you will realize that you will actually begin to add healthy years to your life. Within two years, your risk of heart disease will be greatly reduced. Within five to ten years, your risk of heart disease will be no greater than if you had never smoked. The risk of lung cancer and other malignancies begins to decrease steadily after you quit. And after ten years your risk is almost as low as that of nonsmokers—even if you have smoked for years. As an added benefit, non-smokers have stronger bones and less chance of getting osteoporosis. Also, you will begin to think clearer, because the chemicals that clouded your brain from the nicotine will go away. You will also be a good example to the young people in your world. This information comes curtsey of The Krier Program to Stop Smoking, This program has a 95% success rate as long as the client really wants to quit smoking.
